Job Description
Under the direction of the EHS functional leader, provide guidance on personnel EHS matters to employees and contractors and exercise communication, training and consultation skills to successfully implement programs, policies and positive safety culture. Responsible for the development, implementation, support and maintenance of specific environment, health and safety (EHS) programs as assigned to ensure regulatory compliance and conformance with the company’s EHS Management System. This position will create programs, policies, procedures, hazard assessments and training materials in commercial functions including in-field organizations.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will be to support AbbVie’s US Commercial Fleet Safety and Risk Management Program for all US in-filed personal; Commercial and plant based
Manage the US Commercial ABV1 site in Lake County, IL from an EHS perspective for compliance to regional and overall OSHA compliance regulations, corporate technical standards, corporate policies, and establishing new local programs where applicable
Interprets, communicates and implements programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, corporate standards and external certification programs (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems).
Risk Management escalation investigation and or escalation for coaching and disciplinary actions.
Develops and delivers EHS training on a wide variety of general safety topics such as hazard communication, fleet safety, emergency response and various physical safety programs.
Implement EHS programs and initiatives including, but not limited to:
o AbbVie fleet safety programs
o Ergonomic job safety analysis and assessments
o Contractor/construction EHS management/high hazard controls
o Industrial hygiene
o Chemical safety/hazard communication
o Emergency preparedness and response
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (EHS related, Engineering, chemistry) plus minimum 3 years of EHS related experience or Associate Degree and Advanced Safety Specialist Certification plus minimum 8 years of EHS related experience. Professional EHS or Engineering certification is preferred.
Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, interacting with regulatory agencies and external organizations and managing cross functional teams.
Development of practical, applicable standards and/or policies that meet business objectives. Technical expertise in the EHS functions as well as technical writing and business communications.
Ability to actively listen, build and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders, and resolve conflict.
Ability to successfully manage project and programs.
Ability to provide clear, concise, and effective verbal communications and well-developed written communication and presentation skills
Ability to plan, organize, delegate, and follow-up on work flow in a team environment to meet departmental goals and objectives in a cross matrixed environment
Well organized and have excellent attention to detail and thoroughness
Proficiency and demonstrated ability in standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and data analytics to identify trends and opportunities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.??

Salary: $64,000 - $122,000
