In this role, you will be a key member of the system engineering team working on the features and requirements of modem systems.

Description

You will take part in the pioneering work of designing and developing innovative cellular system-level simulation models and infrastructure, which will play a meaningful role in standardization as well as in defining future 5G and 6G cellular modem products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.

  • Deep knowledge of communication system theory as well as Layer 1, 2 and 3 signal and protocol processing;

  • In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems with hands-on experience in 4G/5G PHY design, channel models, pre-silicon verification and critical metric testing;

  • Experience with Matlab, C/C++ and/or Python including significant knowledge of algorithms and data structures, memory and runtime profiling as well as code optimization techniques;

  • Solid knowledge of current cellular communication standards: 5G (NR) and 4G (LTE);

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (linear algebra, random processes, detection and estimation, debugging and fixing of defects).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science or Electrical/Information Engineering with 7+ years of working experience or PhD in relevant field with 3+ years of working experience is preferred.

  • Validated track-record in SW and link/system level simulator design in C/C++, including experience with simulator frameworks and configuration management;

  • Work experience related to RAN1/RAN2/RAN4 standardization submissions is a plus;

  • Experience utilizing AI/ML tools and techniques in wireless communication system design is a strong plus.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
