Product Analytics : The GCS Product Analytics team plays a pivotal role within the GCS Products organization by applying advanced analytics and statistical methodologies to drive deep insights into client behavior. Our mission is to inform and shape product strategies and deliver connected, personalized experiences that foster deeper client engagement and drive balanced, profitable growth.
Product Development : Within GCS, the GCS and Enterprise Solutions team leads product development on a robust portfolio of products and capabilities for our small business and corporate customers. The team also leads product design and research across GCS as well as business development initiatives to support our banking scale

How will you make an impact in this role?
Product Analytics : Analyze client behavior and product usage patterns using internal datasets. Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools for product performance. Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools for product performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Technology, UX, Marketing) to align on data needs and insights. Document findings and present recommendations to stakeholders. Build and refine models. Support roadmap planning. Deliver insights that inform our strategy/initiatives. Evaluate performance metrics for new product launches or enhancements
Product Development: Articulate existing product functionality and requirements for enhancements. Engage with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and align on product goals. Support sprint planning and backlog grooming in an agile environment. Document product flows, user stories, and feature specs. Contribute to product roadmaps, feature prioritization, and release planning. Prepare presentations or demos for internal stakeholders. Analyze user feedback or product metrics to inform future enhancement.
Product Management: Own product strategy for one of our commercial banking, cash flow management, or payments products. Play a central role identifying customer needs, building outstanding experiences, and leading teams to manage and market these products. Drive the development of commercial customer solutions at American Express. Develop business cases for new products, features and customer experiences. Shape product marketing strategies to drive customer engagement and new growth. Derive insights from the competitive landscape and customer feedback. Synthesize analytics and financials to develop data-driven recommendations. Document and maintain product management processes and product backlogs, including feature prioritization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Finance, Technology, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s or Graduate degree program.
Graduate Degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
Problem solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to distill down complex concepts or problems.
Effective communicator and influencer: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
Intellectual curiosity: High-intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn about the changing payments landscape and emerging technologies.
Collaborative team player: Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues in different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value.
Interest in commercial payments, digital products, product management, technology and product development processes .
Product Analytics: Interest in uncovering insights that drive product strategy, opportunities to improve client experiences through data, a balanced technical rigor with business acumen and energized by solving complex problems. Proficiency in the one or more of the following:
o Excel
o SQL
o Python
o Tableau
o Power BI
Product Development/ Product Management: Entrepreneurial spirit: Proactive self-starter with a demonstrated track record for navigating complex and highly matrixed organizations to execute and deliver results. Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years’ minimum experience in Product Analytics, Product Development, Product Management, Strategy and/or related.
Graduate students enrolled in one of the below areas or related field:
o Data Analytics/Science
o Statistics
o Mathematics
o Computer Science
o Information Systems
o Engineering
o Economics
o Finance
o Product Design or UX/UI
o Business Administration
Experience with agile product development or digital servicing platforms.
Familiarity with financial services, especially commercial payments or corporate banking.
Leadership experience in student organizations or team-based projects.
Internships or research projects focused on product analytics, customer insights, or digital strategy.
Participation in data competitions, hackathons, or analytics clubs.
Personal projects or portfolios showcasing data storytelling or dashboard development.
Thought leadership (e.g., blog posts, presentations) on emerging trends in analytics or fintech.
Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Hands-on experience with product development tools or platforms (e.g., Jira, Figma, GitHub).
Strong storytelling and presentation skills to support executive decision-making.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $38.45 to $87.00 hourly sign-on bonus
