Job Description

Abbvie Commercial Data Lake Strategy & operations team is looking to establish, manage & enhance the data strategy, management, enrichment and accessibility of data and data capabilities to drive business strategy across Abbvie Commercial & L-AGN organizations in a cost effective and operationally efficient manner.

This role within the organization would manage the data strategies and governance team to drive the implementation and management of the Commercial Data Operations and Machine Learning platform (Data Labs initiative) in support of analytics, data science, and ML-based use cases and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a centralized ownership/ management of data across ABV & L-AGN data ecosystem

  • Adopt consistent data governance, data quality standards for existing and/or new data sources

  • Provide business the necessary insights to enable data driven decisioning

  • Enable accessibility, education and explainability of data across ecosystem

  • Standardize data & metrics definitions, in alignment with business strategy & outcomes.

  • Increase adoption of data housekeeping tools and activities such as data definitions mgmt., cataloging, lineage etc.

  • Provides expertise on data management ensuring quality of all deliverables including data onboarding, solutioning, reporting, and analytics readiness.

  • Accountable for data management strategies and process flows to support OPs activities and timelines, collaborating with the cross-functional BTS (Business Technology Services) teams as needed.

  • Work in conjunction with key business and analytics stakeholders to perform data and process gap analysis and seek to leverage additional opportunities from the data

  • Drive data processing automation in support of Analytics and ML Operations across commercial data stores

  • Consult with Brand, Analytics, and BTS teams to implement key data strategies in support of new drug launches

  • Ensures adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and functional quality standards Stays abreast of new and/or evolving industry trends, data standards, and OPs technologies of importance for data management and contribute to enhancing capabilities and operational efficiencies.

  • Manage the Ad Hoc support team and database in support of commercial ad hoc data needs

  • Demonstrate Ad Hoc team’s foundational data expertise and provide data for internal business clients as well as democratize ways for self-service

  • Provide metadata, taxonomies, cross-reference, and other supplemental data required for clean record tagging and integration with other data sources.

  • Perform end-to-end Life Cycle implementations from design and build to the ongoing monitoring, support, and governance of the ML platform ensuring fit-for-purpose data availability

  • Reviews data, query, and programming logic, troubleshoots issues and provides remediation.

  • Utilizes reports and data collection technology to identify possible data errors and questionable data trends.

  • Democratizes data by sharing key data knowledge across Enterprise via the data cataloging and search tool.

  • Engages in key vendor contractual relationships and establishing data feeds

  • Consult with Operations team and key stakeholders to form Data Governance mo.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, life sciences or equivalent.

  • Must have 5+ years of direct data management experience.

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.

  • Demonstrated expertise in use of required technology.

  • Demonstrated ability to think independently and make decisions.

Salary: $106,500 - $202,500
