Apple’s 3rd Party App Compatibility team works to ensure future software and hardware changes do not negatively impact customers in the third-party software they use every day. We triage thousands of reports annually, from internal and external sources, and are looking for an outstanding candidate to help streamline the triage process by connecting relevant data sources, learning from past reports, and surfacing the most critical issues quickly. Help us make sure the customer experience is excellent when we ship new software updates and new devices!

Description

We are seeking an experienced engineer with a proven record of solving complex problems with limited information. As Apple’s installed base of devices grows and the third-party software ecosystem thrives, the raw number of bug reports we receive about third-party software on Apple devices continues to increase. The triage pipeline for these reports continues to grow in complexity, so we need your help! Using data sources and machine learning models from across Apple, build tools that enable our team to increase our triage throughput and accuracy while ensuring we tackle the most impactful issues first.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent

• Experience extracting relevant information from varied sources, linking together extracted data, and making recommendations.

• Scripting programming skills in Python or Swift

• Proficiency with iOS, macOS, or other operating systems such as UNIX/Linux

• Proven record of cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AI and ML models for data understanding and recommendation generation

• Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
