Apple's Environmental Technologies team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Packaging Compliance Engineer with strengths in data collection, data analysis, effective communication and strong abilities to cut through ambiguity and manage complexity. In this role, you will validate Apple packaging designs to upcoming and existing packaging regulations through testing and analysis, inform advocacy work, and develop compliance plans. This role requires you to closely partner with many cross functional teams, including packaging and logistics, to implement worldwide environmental compliance requirements and standards.

Description
This position is offered in Apple's Environmental Technologies group within Apple's Hardware Engineering division. Our mission is to deliver world-leading programs to address the impacts of climate change, conserve resources, and utilize safer materials in our products.
As a Packaging Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for driving Apple’s environmental compliance on packaging. A successful candidate will need to
partner with a wide range of engineering, design, and operations teams to establish and achieve ambitious environmental and regulatory objectives
collaborate with regulatory compliance teams to understand upcoming and existing requirements and inform advocacy priorities
effectively translate regulatory requirements into relatable actions for packaging designers
collect and analyze diverse sets of complex data to deliver comprehensive compliance assessments on thousands of products
be comfortable navigating ambiguity and conflicting priorities to arrive at an agreed upon course of action, as well as be willing to commit and deliver on a decision.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or Policy
3+ years working on environmental compliance and standards
Experience managing, organizing and driving deliverables of complex projects with tight timelines
Happy to meet in the early morning to accommodate European colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or PhD in Engineering, Science or Policy
Comfortable in environments where relationship-building and persuasion are key to successful outcomes
Excellent communication skills — written and verbal with diverse audiences, from engineers to executives. Adaptable to both collaborative and independent work settings
Thrives in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and quality are required
Strong technical background in packaging and packaging materials
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
