Summary

Apple’s Graphics, Games, and Machine Learning team provides the graphics and machine learning software foundation across all of our innovative products including iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
Our responsibilities encompass the frameworks, developer tools, and hardware drivers for the GPU, Display and Virtual devices. This team is responsible for advancing and designing virtualization technologies, accelerating Graphics and Compute APIs, enabling developers and users to run diverse operating systems and environments reliably on their Mac.

Description

The Metal emulation technologies team is looking for a GPU driver engineer to join our development team responsible for designing, developing and shipping Metal & Machine Learning frameworks in virtualization for Apple Silicon GPUs.

You will partner with teams across Apple to develop and integrate key technologies improving graphics and compute potential for Apple products across a wide variety of applications from games to machine learning and image processing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in GPU driver development - user mode or kernel mode drivers

  • Good programming with knowledge of C or C++ Good software design and debugging skills

  • Understanding of systems architecture

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Technical BS/MS degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the graphics pipeline and GPU architecture

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies

  • Knowledge of any Graphics and Machine Learning APIs
