The Technology Business Enablement (TBE) team powers American Express Tech Investment optimization by enabling predictability, transparency, and efficiency through best-in-class Tech Business capabilities. Within TBE is the Technology Portfolio Management team (TPM) which powers Technology, Business and Product to achieve business and customer value by optimizing Technology investments, elevating transparency and enabling decisioning through trusted insights and best-in-class Portfolio and Program management.
Within the Technology Portfolio Management team, the Senior Manager of Portfolio Management - Enterprise Investment Planning will help drive and support the Technology Investment planning process, enabling process optimizations and promote greater accountability across key stakeholders across the Enterprise. This strategic and analytical role will actively drive and evolve changes to the existing Planning process to deliver insights to drive Enterprise investment decisions at the Executive level, and progress optimizations to enable the future state of Planning and Investment management.
The ideal candidate will have a data-driven mindset, growing passion for process and driven innovation, and possess superior ability to partner with others to drive large-scale changes. This highly visible role will require a strong intellectual curiosity, exceptional collaborative spirit and strong attention to detail.
This is a hybrid role based either in New York or Phoenix; Hybrid colleagues work a mix of in-office and virtual days, coming into the office 3 days per week. Leaders and colleagues will plan common days for in-person connection, collaboration and events.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Enable financial and capacity planning and forecasting across a $2 Billion Technology Investment portfolio, including scenario and ad-hoc analytics
Support Enterprise Investment planning and enable actionable insights to Leadership to manage delivery risk and optimize investment utilization
Build and maintain strong partnerships with Finance to collaborate and execute deliverables for the Enterprise Planning and Long Range Plans
Drive Process optimizations to transform Technology investment planning process and decisions
Manage investment planning, driving and promoting awareness and execution of critical milestones
Minimum Qualifications
Intellectually curious and data-driven with prior experience in financial modeling, data analytics and Executive decision support
Strong communication with the ability to engage and partner with others to work towards shared outcomes; influence without authority
Results oriented, comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Passion for continued improvements, process-retooling and automation; new ways of working
Familiar with Agile and SAFE methodologies, empathetic to Agile team needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or comfort with Python and PowerBI
Qualifications
Annual Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits
