Description
Join Apple's All-Scale Modeling (ASM) team where computational physics directly shapes the future of technologies in Apple products. Your algorithms and models will influence hardware innovations that touch millions of lives daily. We are looking for a Computational Physicist who thrives on transforming complex physical phenomena into elegant computational solutions that drive real product decisions.
Responsibilities
Design and implement cutting-edge physical models and mathematical algorithms that unlock new possibilities in hardware technology development.
Architect high-performance simulation frameworks that achieve breakthrough computational speeds while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
Solve engineering challenges through creative computational approaches that redefine what's technically feasible.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex physics into practical solutions that enhance product performance and user experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Deep expertise in physics modeling and numerical methods, with proven ability to implement them in production environments.
Proficiency in Python for rapid prototyping, C++/CUDA/Metal programming for high-performance systems and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD degree in Applied Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated track record of systematically debugging complex computational issues and developing innovative algorithmic solutions.
Hands-on experience building and validating computational simulation frameworks that guide critical engineering decisions.
Passion for pushing computational boundaries and creating elegant solutions to complex physics problems.
Proficiency in uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis, and statistical methods for validating computational models against experimental data.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex computational results into actionable insights for cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
