DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented School to Work (Student) - Engineering to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Florence, KY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Identifying Process Improvements : Assist in pinpointing areas for improvement within manufacturing and distribution operations, driving efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Implementing Projects : Participate in the development and execution of process improvement projects, ensuring they are successfully implemented.

  • Data Analysis : Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency gains, providing valuable insights for decision-making.

  • Reporting and Presentations : Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management, aiding strategic planning.

  • Project Coordination : Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing improvement projects, ensuring they align with business goals and are completed on time.

  • Monitoring Progress : Track project milestones and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of deliverables, maintaining project momentum.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are aligned with overall business objectives, fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Customer Operations Support : Provide support to the Customer Operations team, addressing operational issues and improving customer satisfaction through effective solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Utilize your strong analytical abilities to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions to improve processes and operations.

  • Communication Skills : Use your excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information clearly, collaborate with team members, and present findings and recommendations to management.

  • Team Collaboration : Work effectively within a team environment, building strong partnerships and working collaboratively to achieve shared objectives.

  • Self-Motivation and Organizational Skills : Stay self-motivated and organized to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring timely completion of projects and maintaining high standards of work.

  • Attention to Detail : Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in your work, from data analysis to report preparation and project execution.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing : Apply your basic understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and process improvements.

Education/Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a plus

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in industrial engineering preferred, Operations Management or related field.

  • Must be full-time college student.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

  • This is an onsite role.

  • Engineering Basics

  • Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm; Will be adjusted to student’s class schedule as required )

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The

final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s

qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
