Enterprise Comms & Martech Experiences (ECMX) is a global organization that sits within MEMBERSHIP PORTFOLIO SERVICES (MPS) and is American Express’ marketing services center of excellence with the charter of driving high quality, customer-first marketing that accelerates business growth through optimized go-to-market solutions and the development of best-in-class mar tech products & processes.
Purpose of the Role
The Director of US Targeting Operations team will lead segmentation, targeting & eligibility, campaign development & execution, for US Customer Marketing campaigns across various lines of business, including US Consumer, US Corporate, US SME, US Kabbage, Amex Insights, amongst others, across both Card and Non-Card Products. The Director will work with MPS/ECMX stakeholders, US marketing partners, other business units, and key stakeholders to support the current business marketing priorities and goals, delivering marketing excellence, while powering future growth. They will also collaborate with product team to deliver on peers from their team to evolve and deliver on transformation roadmap.
Responsibilities:
Partnering with US Consulting and lead teams within ECMX and key marketing teams to ensure strategic consultation and flawless execution of customer targeting & eligibility in support of US customer marketing.
Partnering with ECMX teams and key marketing partners to ensure compliance of marketing processes, prior to launch.
Evolving the team as strong campaign consultants in key functions including customer targeting & eligibility to help partners optimize their business outcomes, with data based strategic advisory.
Conceptualizing and leading continuous process improvement roadmap to optimize speed, efficiency and cost related to marketing execution processes, as a transformation consultant.
Developing a deep understanding of the technology platforms the team uses and partnering with tech product teams to inform continuous enhancements. Liaise closely with Product and technology to enable requirement translation and product definitions. Assess capability fitment.
Provide comprehensive people leadership support for US based team, working closely with cross geographic teams.
Work prioritization and decisions are critical to the overall success of all aspects and phases of the organization. Work involves a broad latitude for decision-making and review of actions through goal attainment.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellence in stakeholder management skills to build strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
People leadership experience with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a highly engaged team with diverse and advanced skill sets. Must have a positive, collaborative leadership style with colleague and customer first approach.
Prior Marketing Technology/Operations experience on Adobe, is preferred
Good understanding of Big Data Technologies (Python/PySpark, Hive, SQL etc.,) is preferred.
Ability to reconcile competing needs across customers, stakeholders, and partners; gather the information, assess tradeoffs and risks, gain buy-in, make an informed decision, and support that decision with compelling evidence.
Deeper understanding of product development lifecycle. Strong understanding of data structures, system workflows and marketing platforms, eg: CDP
Strong Program Management, analytical & problem-solving skills.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or any other relevant qualification.
10 to 12 years of relevant work experience
Understanding of application architecture and technology infrastructure preferred

Ability to tailor communications so that they are appealing and understandable. Ability to convey technical and business information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing.
Comfortable with emerging technologies/trends.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
