Job Description

The Senior Workday Specialist is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of Workday modules. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workday functionalities and possess the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to enhance our Workday capabilities and processes. This role involves collaboration with HR, IT, and other departments within AbbVie to ensure that our Workday system meets business needs. It also includes acting in a consulting capacity to understand and interpret the request received from stakeholders and translate it into a viable and meaningful solution that aligns to our Workday strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the configuration and implementation of Workday change requests, including but not limited to HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation.

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance of the Workday system, ensuring data integrity and system security

  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to identify and analyze requests from our business stakeholders and provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Manage and execute system upgrades and updates, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Stay up to date with Workday features and best practices to proactively recommend optimizations.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and teams to provide Workday expertise and insights.

  • Partner with our IT team to ensure vendor management and oversight for the change requests that are assigned to a third-party vendor

  • Act as testing resource and potentially a testing lead for major projects

  • As part of a team, develop and execute an evolving Workday strategy that is current with business needs and technological capabilities

  • Support governance activities to ensure that Workday changes follow appropriate processes and approvals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience is required.

  • 1+ years of Workday experience, including system configuration, implementation, and support is preferred.

  • Strong expertise in Workday HCM and at least one other module (such as Payroll, Benefits, or Compensation).

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Curious, analytical and independent; able to conduct research and prototypes with little to no oversight

  • Willingness to share knowledge with team members and stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert to other areas of HR

  • Mindset of continuous improvement, willingness to challenge the status quo, and speak openly and professionally when there is a difference of opinion

  • Workday certification is a plus but not required

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $78,500 - $141,000
