As part of Apple’s Machine Learning Research organization, we do world-class scientific research and build the technologies that will power future products at Apple. The techniques and tools we create will impact ML solutions across Apple, which in turn power most of the features we deliver to billions of consumers worldwide. We are looking for highly motivated, result-oriented engineers with a strong background in Computer Science, Machine Learning engineering and software development to join our team. In this position, you will work with researchers across the Machine Learning Research group to build scalable data processing and research pipelines from scratch in the latest and greatest generative models and sequence processing (video, text and speech).
Description
Work with researchers on the team to build high-performance and scalable software addressing novel ML research algorithms and data processing. Apply solid software engineering skills, leverage experience to deal with the unexpected, explore research software solutions and pave the way to future Machine Learning toolboxes. Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, or related fields
2 years in Python programming, including https://github.com/rougier/numpy-100 - including internships
1 years in at least one ML framework (PyTorch preferred, tensorflow or jax are ok) - including internships
Hands-on experience in building and evaluating data processing pipelines: from scratch, using OSS ML models, etc.
Involvement with open-source projects and experience with collaborative software development
Excellent communication skills
Readiness to encounter unforeseen challenges and to solve them
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Computer Science (or related fields) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years in Python programming, including https://github.com/rougier/numpy-100 - including internships
- 2+ years in at least one ML framework (PyTorch preferred, tensorflow or jax are ok) - including internships
- Hands-on experience in building and evaluating data processing pipelines: from scratch, using OSS ML models, etc.
Hands-on experience in establishing ML benchmarks (data, models, metrics)
Active development in open-source projects and experience with collaborative software development
Excellent communication skills
Readiness to encounter unforeseen challenges and to solve them
Past research experience is a plus
C++ programming is a plus
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
