The Learning Systems and Operations team strives to provide exceptional operational services for the AppleCare Support Foundations organization, while managing and driving technology and tools. This Manager is responsible for managing the Learning Systems roadmap and priorities. This person works closely with business partners to align on organizational priorities and Support Programs to ensure tools projects are pitched and funded.
Description
This Manager will be responsible for ensuring the operations team works effectively with instructional designers in the publication and localization of their content within our learning management system (LMS) and Content Management System (CMS). These responsibilities will include managing the team’s day-to-day operations, supporting administrators worldwide, troubleshooting escalations, and implementing process efficiencies.
This position requires an organized and meticulous individual that can collaborate effectively with training leadership, development managers, and IS&T to oversee the management, administration, and integration of technology systems.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement vision and strategy for learning platforms within the organization
Managing the system priorities and roadmap, working closely with business stakeholders to determine requirements and prioritization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and prioritize enhancement requests, and define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Collaborating closely with Support Programs and IS&T on day-to-day bugs, enhancements, and priorities
Supporting system user/admin needs, including issue tracking, escalation, and resolution
Own data management, data quality, data governance as it pertains to learning analytics, quality metrics, & learner performance
Effectively managing team resources to maximize efficiency
Driving technical and process innovation to ensure quality
Working with Support Foundations leadership to support organizational goals
Conducting performance evaluations and providing performance feedback to staff
Participating in leadership meetings, representing your team in results and forward-thinking initiatives
Collaborating with Training Program Managers (TPMs) and Delivery Managers to ensure that the LMS supports our delivery needs worldwide
Assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) testing during LMS & CMS releases
Serving as the subject-matter expert on our Learning Platforms
Staying knowledgeable about current Learning Platform trends
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience
5+ years in a people manager role with a track record of building and maintaining highly effective teams
3+ years work experience with learning management systems (LMSs)
3+ years work experience with learning content management systems (LCMS)
Exceptional project management skills and experience
Comfortable presenting and communicating with differing levels of business stakeholders
Advanced negotiation skills - the ability balance firmness and flexibility towards securing good outcomes while maintaining positive relationships
Ability to deal well with conflict
Great time-management and organizational skills
Experience balancing coaching and development with administrative tasks
Willingness to take on new roles, assignments, and responsibilities as needed
Attention to detail
Proven ability to assess business needs, prioritize accordingly, and escalate appropriately
Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory
Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Saba LMS
Experience with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) CMS
Experience with taxonomy management
Experience with macOS
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
