Are you passionate about infrastructure and resiliency risk management? Do you want to make a positive impact on the operational integrity of a global company? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the Manager, Technology Risk and Control – Infrastructure & Resiliency role at American Express.

As a Manager of Technology Risk and Control, you will be part of the Technology Risk and Information Security organization, which is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the enterprise. You will collaborate with control owners, engineering teams, and business leaders to uplift controls, manage business continuity planning, and drive strategic risk initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead infrastructure and resiliency risk activities aligned with CRI, ISO, NIST, and FFIEC frameworks.

  • Partner with control owners to refine scopes, develop SOPs, and validate operational effectiveness through test plans and metrics.

  • Own and manage TRIS Critical and Non-Critical Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring semi-annual renewal and testing.

  • Contribute to the TRM lifecycle: identify, measure, manage, monitor, and report on infrastructure-related risks.

  • Provide actionable insights through control scoring and gap analysis using tools like Qlik, Archer, and Standard Fusion.

  • Engage with teams across Security Engineering, Enterprise Cloud, Mainframe, Distributed Infrastructure, and SRE.

  • Collaborate with Technology Change Management and Engineering Governance to align risk strategies with operational priorities.

  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of shared ownership in risk management.

  • Drive inclusive collaboration and maintain transparency in decision-making and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in Technology Risk Management, Infrastructure Security, or related disciplines.

  • Experience with infrastructure domains including cloud, mainframe, and distributed systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with risk tools (e.g., Archer, Qlik).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC are a plus.

  • Experience managing BCPs and resiliency frameworks.

  • Ability to translate complex risk data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Growth mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits
