Apple is looking for a world-class Engineering Program Manager to join the Color & Texture team for Home, Beats, and Ecosystem Products.
Description
Apple EPMs are responsible for building and communicating project definition, development milestones, project status, and aligning critical decision points in the development of new products. An EPM should be able to prioritize issues and track the details as well as be in touch with the big-picture program needs.
EPMs are fearless organizers who are ready to work with the highly skilled Mechanical Design and Industrial Design teams to identify and explore many parallel efforts while balancing and maintaining flexibility under the pressure of a tight schedule. The EPM will interact with different engineering design disciplines including but not limited to Reliability, Marketing, Packaging, Manufacturing, Component Engineering, and other resources inside and outside Apple.
The EPM is also the key interface between Industrial Design, Product Design, and Executive Leadership while driving preparedness and updates. Success is defined in terms of the quality, preparedness, organization, and execution of narrowing design options into the product.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain decision matrices and following project schedules. Evaluate course of action in a timely manner when issues arise
Enable the development effort by creating and supervising an efficient, streamlined process
Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management
Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management
Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for facilitating decision-making
Reporting and presenting to senior management on project status and schedules
Minimum Qualifications
BS ME/EE/CE degree or equivalent
5+ years of experience as an practicing engineer or program manager
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
MS ME/EE/CE degree or equivalent
Experience in consumer/portable products with high cosmetic requirements
Experience working with off shore suppliers and manufacturers
A working understanding of high volume manufacturing processes
Experience in research development and prototyping
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
