Here on the Apple Store Online team, we are responsible for Apple’s largest store. Our main goal is to deliver a magical, personal digital experience where customers can shop, buy and learn everything Apple, wherever they are. The Retail Online Analytics team is looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about crafting, implementing, and operating analytical solutions that have a direct and measurable impact on Apple Online Sales.This role will operate in both capacities, to augment existing data solutions, as well as innovate and leading data science projects, crafting analytic experiences that simplify data into insights and catalyze decision making.

Description

A successful candidate will have deep experience in applied methods (predictive modeling, classification, causal inference), experience building reporting dashboards, and using those methods and tools to drive key business insights. The role requires both a broad knowledge of existing data mining algorithms, strong business sense, and creativity to invent and customize when necessary. You’ll work closely with a broad range of data professionals as well as business leaders. You’ll be working on projects where tools and methods are used to drive real-world business value.
-Work across business teams to help evaluate the impact of promotional/seasonal campaigns on ASO sales.
-Collaborate with partner teams in the development of planning tools that Commercial teams can use in their planning sessions.
-Explore complex data sources, becoming a subject matter expert in customer behavior across Apple Online’s retail platforms.
-Work with the team responsible for implementing analytics for apple.com, commerce analytics, marketing analytics, and performance optimization; guiding the translation of business requirements into technical implementation specifications for web and native app platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, causal inference, time series analysis, and mathematical optimization.

  • Familiarity with Marketing Mix Models (MMM) and other causal inference approaches applied to measure incremental impact on sales from marketing, and promotional campaigns.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Analytics and associated Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions.

  • Strong programming skills, including data querying skills (SQL and/or Spark) and experience with a scripting language for data processing and model development (R or Python preferred).

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or related quantitative field (Masters preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in NLP and working knowledge of LLMs a plus.

  • Some experience working with different tag management solutions, including direct-to-page JavaScript implementation.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in coding and reviewing HTML, CSS, XML, and Javascript.

  • Capable of driving projects of varying sizes and scopes

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to naturally explain difficult technical topics to everyone from data scientists to engineers to business patterns.

  • Knowledge of database technologies such as Snowflake, MySQL, and lightweight user interfaces like Streamlit, Tableau and virtualization using Docker, Kubernetes.

  • Advocate and practitioner of version control and reproducible code.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
