Join Apple and help us leave the world better than we found it. We are looking for a Senior Global Sourcing Supply Manager (GSSM) for Inbound Transportation. In this role you will report to the Director of WW Logistics Procurement and manage Apple’s global inbound transportation spend and ensure customers receive outstanding delivery services from Apple. You will be responsible for the qualification, selection and contracting of Inbound transportation. You will play a key role in maintaining business relationships with the Regional and Worldwide Leaders of Logistics Operations and ensure both Corporate Procurement Strategies and those supporting the Logistics Operations efforts are aligned. You will also foster positive business relationships with senior level people across Apple’s Logistics Suppliers.

Description

Typical responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Developing a strategy for making sure freight is delivered on time to Apple’s customers at the lowest possible cost. Ensuring that freight capacity is available in line with Apple’s projected forecasts and growth objectives. Performing supplier financial research, spend analysis and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals. Negotiating transportation contracts and the financial analysis associated with driving an agreement that supports Apple’s objectives. Support and execute BOC (Business Opportunity Conference), Requests for Proposals (RFP) as well as additional sourcing efforts such as Request for Information (RFIs) which align with GSSM global strategy. Reviewing of all business documents being released to the suppliers: RFPs, RFIs, Statement of Work (SOW), Master Agreements (MSAs), and negotiating its terms by working closely with Legal and the Director of WW Logistics Procurement. Ensuring that suppliers are selected who meet the needs of Apple at the terms and pricing favorable to Apple. Have regular status reviews with the business and suppliers ensuring that services are being performed according to the SOW and pricing. Ensure active measurement of the supplier’s performance to the SOW is occurring and identification of root cause and corrective measures are established as the need arises. Work with the regional business units and vendors to ensure that costs and waste are being eliminated from the overall supply chain. Maintaining effective and proactive relationships with regional business teams to ensure support of existing and new operational requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree plus 10+ years relevant experience in the logistics industry.

  • 10+ years of experience managing in all modes of Inbound transportation with focus on Airfreight and Ocean freight

  • 10+ years of experience engaging directly with Logistics suppliers

  • Deep expertise in end to end Contract Management

  • 15+ years of experience in a procurement function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in all modes of Inbound transportation with focus on Airfreight and Ocean freight

  • Must be a skilled negotiator, highly analytical, creative and an effective communicator

  • Ability to influence others

  • Experience with Contract Management from end to end

  • Knowledge of Logistics suppliers and contacts

  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to details

  • Tenacity and passion

  • Ability to operate independently and lead without authority

  • Ability to think outside of the box and come up with creative ideas to solve complex problems

  • MBA Desirable

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $211,300 and $317,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
