DESCRIPTION

Apply electrical engineering expertise to plan and produce sales communications and related materials for products including vehicles powered by Diesel, Natural Gas, Renewable Fuels, Octane, Propane, Hydrogen, Renewable Energy, Range Extended Electric Vehicle, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, and Battery Electric Vehicle to meet Cummins strategies and objectives. Build, lead, and execute strategic communications planning including the marketing promotional plan and communications plan. Translate technical product features to enable communication in marketing and sales, including compelling marketing messages that resonate with target audiences, using electrical engineering expertise to accurately represent product capabilities, supporting the EBU On-Highway Destination Zero pathway towards renewable energy, alternative clean fuels, battery electric and fuel cell vehicles. Utilize Voice of Business (VoB) research and available customer research in the engineering industry to understand the competitive strengths and weaknesses of the Cummins sales force and how performance could be improved. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand new product developments and stay up-to-date on technical advancements and translate them into effective sales and marketing communication materials. Effectively explain technical aspects and deliver technical training of engineering products to potential customers and partners, drawing upon strong understanding of electrical engineering principles. Apply principles of brand management to create competitive advantage. Lead functional trainings and create and deliver presentations. Translate complex engineering concepts into clear and engaging content for target audiences, utilizing knowledge of electrical engineering principles and applications, considering different mechanisms and preferences for learning. Explain technical products, features, and applications to internal and external stakeholders to facilitate sales, drawing upon understanding of electrical engineering systems and concepts. Develop robust feasibility studies to identify potential customer segments for new product launches, ensuring informed decision-making on critical business initiatives. Promote sales by leveraging current and emerging digital media strategies to influence buyer behavior or target audience to a desired action. Ensure technical accuracy and clarity in all communication materials, leveraging knowledge of electrical engineering terminology and best practices. Set targets for data-driven decisions, and compile, analyze, and utilize metrics, data, and analytics. Champion digital tools, trends, and channels with stakeholders. Conduct market research and analysis by analyzing trends and developments in the engineering industry, utilizing knowledge of relevant technologies and market dynamics. Summarize complex engineering information into concise and insightful reports for stakeholders. Analyze market data and insights to inform communication strategies and product development initiatives, applying electrical engineering expertise to stay ahead of the curve. Innovate and lead continuous improvement. Manage and lead multiple projects from inception to completion. Facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project. Work with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals, design project plan, develop timeline, identify project milestones, and track performance against performance goals and timeline.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as an Electrical or Sales Engineer or Product Communications Specialist, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as an Electrical or Sales Engineer or Product Communications Specialist, or related position. Experience to include: Translate technical product features to enable communication in marketing and sales; Utilize Voice of Business (VoB) research in the engineering industry; Deliver technical training of engineering products to potential customers and partners; Develop robust feasibility studies to identify potential customer segments for new product launches; Conduct market research and analysis in the engineering industry; Communication strategies and product development initiatives; Work with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals.
