The Productivity team is looking for a Sr. Engineering Project Manager. We are looking for that individual who takes ownership and commits themselves to delivering great products. As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for driving delivery of features and infrastructure for upcoming releases of the services.

Description

Apple is seeking a high-energy and self-driven Sr. Engineering Project Manager who will play a central role in the delivery of scalable services. We are looking for someone who understands software development (Agile and SCRUM) and has experience working with software engineering, design, QA, and across external teams to manage and track deliverables. The position is hands-on. You'll be deep in product details and requirements, challenged to innovate and strategize new features, and build relationships to drive results. Functional job duties:
Driving delivery of features and infrastructure for upcoming releases of the services
Playing a central role in the delivery of scalable services
Leveraging understanding of software development (Agile and SCRUM) and leveraging experience working with software engineering, design, QA, and across external teams to manage and track deliverables
Leveraging industry experience analyzing data and insights with a past experience turning metrics into narratives to perform process improvements to the release pipeline, production services, etc.
Engaging in tasks involving product details and requirements, innovating and strategizing new features, and building relationships to drive results; and
Crafting upcoming products that will delight and inspire millions of Apple’s customers every day.

Technical job duties:
Drive the daily deployments of BE releases for multiple products to 4 different environments, including troubleshooting failed deployments and transitioning of deployed radars to the QA team for verification
Play a pivotal role in feature development, infrastructure migrations, cost savings and EOL efforts
Project manage the intake and execution of App config changes to support client & marketing requests for first and second party applications
Project manage the intake and execution of A/B experimentation requests for News, Stocks and Weather to test out new features or design explorations
Engage in resolution, remediation of any Production outages including post mortem, root cause analysis and corrective actions

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years as an engineering project manager who has managed multiple full project lifecycles.

  • 2+ years of industry experience managing Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure domains.

  • 2+ years of industry experience analyzing data and insights with a past experience turning metrics into narratives to perform process improvements to the release pipeline, production services, etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Project Managmenet related fields, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or we may consider an equivalent industry experience.

  • Experience with release planning and SDLC methodologies.

  • Embraces technical challenges and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve delivery dependencies.

  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.

  • Deep understanding of a software product’s lifecycle.

  • Experience managing projects using Agile software development, e.g. Scrum or Kanban.

  • Can refer to past experiences to tackle current complex problems.

  • Partner with QA to manage issues and possess the ability to determine when issues have been resolved and verified.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Comfortable communicating with executive management and cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to influence, lead, and mitigate risks.

  • Skilled in developing and delivering daily and weekly reports to the team and management.

  • Aptitude to independently learn new technologies.
