Description

We are looking for an experienced and driven Product Safety Lab Manager to lead operations of our Product Safety Laboratory, supporting the evaluation and certification of consumer electronics. This role blends technical depth in product safety standards (IEC 62368-1) with strong operational, leadership, and continuous improvement capabilities.

The Lab Manager will champion testing integrity, maintain global accreditation standards, and drive efficiency through data-driven insights, and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.

  • 8+ years of experience in product safety testing and laboratory operations (6+ years with an advanced degree).

  • Proven experience maintaining/managing an ISO/IEC 17025–accredited lab and working knowledge of CB Scheme certification processes.

  • Deep knowledge of IEC 62368-1 for consumer electronics ad demonstrated success implementing Lean or continuous improvement methodologies to improve throughput and processes

  • Experience developing and managing CapEx / OpEx budgets and making data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills; capable of motivating teams and collaborating across disciplines.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and data integrity.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment balancing technical depth, quality, and speed.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product safety testing or laboratory operations

  • Hands-on experience certifying consumer electronics under IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950, 62368, 62133, and 60065 under CB Scheme.

  • Demonstrated impact in reducing process waste, accelerating test turnaround, and enhancing data quality by implementing Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Lean principles.

  • Proficiency in Tableau, Python, or equivalent tools for data analysis, automation, and real-time KPI visualization.

  • Experience implementing and managing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

  • Formal training in Lean, and Master Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma Certifications.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
