American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. To maintain this success, the organization will accelerate sales and drive profitable charge volume growth. Within Commercial Business Enablement, the Sales Enablement, Pricing & Transformation (SPT) team, is the analysis and business decisioning arm of GCS responsible for studying business performance and uncovering practical insights to support growth. The SPT Capabilities group leads tools strategy for our 4,000 colleagues in the field (face-to-face) and telephone teams who lead new sales and the retention and of existing business.

We collaborate across the entire GCS business to accelerate growth by equipping a best-in-class B2B customer-facing organization. This includes introducing innovative solutions and crafting roadmaps for the most viable integrations to provide a seamless and outstanding prospect and customer sales experience. We are working to curate a best-in-class sales process using technology, AI, and Machine Learning and are looking for a highly motivated, strategic problem solver who sees the opportunity in every challenge. How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of funded initiatives, define the problem statement and how to address it, define timelines and progress gates, coordinate cross-functional partners, and ensure successful delivery of outcomes

  • Serve as the primary advocate for sales teams by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing customer feedback, sales insights, and market trends to advise product and capability decisions

  • Develop and drive multi-year strategic roadmaps for commercial sales capabilities, aligning with company focus areas and prioritizing investments based on business impact and customer value

  • Lead and mentor a direct report, providing direction, career development support, and performance management

  • Own the relationship management and governance for third-party tools and partners within your remit including vendor selection, contract renewals, performance monitoring, and termination processes

  • Deploy cross functional collaboration with Business Development, Client Management, Marketing, Operations, Technology, Control Management, InfoSec, Compliance and Legal to ensure alignment across strategies, tools, and initiatives

  • Define and report critical metrics to evaluate capability effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business goals

  • Ensure that tools are compliant with regulatory requirements and effectively address identified gaps where needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Noteworthy results in Product Management, Business Strategy, or an equivalent field, preferably in a B2B sales environment

  • Proven experience handling cross-functional initiatives and leading projects from concept through execution

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills which translate data and insights into actionable business decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to support and mentor junior team members.

  • Experience being responsible for the relationship and performance of third-party vendors or external partners, including contracts and performance metrics

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree

  • Experience working within or closely with BD and CM teams

  • Knowledge of CRM, sales enablement platforms, or commercial sales technology ecosystems

  • Background in tool rationalization or capability development in a sophisticated business environment

  • Experience developing and owning long-range strategic plans and investment roadmaps

  • Familiarity with Voice of the Customer methodologies and customer journey mapping

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
