DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician - Level III (3rd Shift) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in North Charleston, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Job Summary

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance team operations, ensuring alignment with functional KPIs, team coordination, and housekeeping standards.

  • Provide both reactive and proactive technical guidance, setting clear expectations and maintaining performance, standard work, business values, and ethical standards.

  • Apply strong technical expertise in maintenance and manufacturing engineering (ME) to identify team skill gaps, drive continuous improvement, and implement process and equipment changes that enhance safety and increase equipment uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, lead safety training and support COMET investigations within the maintenance team.

  • Supervise daily maintenance operations, coordinate team activities, address live issues, and drive achievement of KPIs.

  • Provide technical guidance, set clear expectations, and uphold performance, quality, and ethical standards.

  • Lead structured shift meetings and ensure accurate documentation of work orders in Maximo.

  • Oversee apprentice training in alignment with program and departmental goals.

  • Promote continuous improvement through data analysis, lessons learned, and ownership of recurring issues.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.

  • Lead projects and assignments, offering development opportunities in coordination with the department manager.

  • Support coaching, mentoring, performance reviews, and workforce planning, including headcount and overtime management.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced technical expertise to diagnose and resolve downtime issues related to CRP equipment, systems, and processes.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols; lead team training and support safety investigations, including COMET.

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, team coordination, and achievement of KPIs and live issue resolution.

  • Provide clear technical direction, performance feedback, and uphold standards for quality, ethics, and business values.

  • Lead structured shift meetings and ensure accurate work order documentation in Maximo.

  • Manage apprentice training in alignment with program and departmental objectives.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven analysis and ownership of recurring issues.

  • Collaborate across departments to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity.

  • Lead projects and team assignments, supporting development in coordination with the department manager.

  • Assist with coaching, performance reviews, and workforce planning, including headcount and overtime management.
