Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop and practice analytical methods based on multi-physics modeling and simulation for the robust design of consumer electronics devices. Use finite element analysis to assess the performance of product designs against engineering requirements. Use modeling and simulation to help product designers explore design concepts and quantify design spaces. Design and manage physical tests for calibration data and validation studies. Use finite element simulation to optimize product performance for strength and impact loading. Work with internal teams and outside vendors to develop and perform sub-system and full-system tests to validate simulation predictions. Use virtual tests to qualify designs against engineering requirements. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100.00 - $272,100.00/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Experience and/or education must include:

  • Utilizing solid mechanics and mechanics of materials theories to evaluate designs against engineering requirements.

  • Designing and managing physical tests for calibration data and validation studies.

  • Using virtual tests to qualify designs against engineering requirements.

  • Using finite element analysis tool Abaqus to assess the performance of product designs against engineering requirements.

  • Applying modeling and simulation to help product designers explore design concepts and quantify design spaces.

  • Developing and practicing analytical methods based on multi-physics modeling and simulation for the robust design of consumer electronics products.

  • Using finite element simulation to optimize product performance for strength and impact loading.

  • Developing and performing sub-system and full-system tests to validate simulation predictions.
