Job Description

Join a dynamic and innovative organization focused on delivering strategic technology solutions for Medical Affairs + Health Impact (MHI). As a Business Systems Consultant, you will serve as a key partner in translating business goals into technology strategies, balancing strategic oversight with tactical implementation to support the Medical Affairs portfolio. Your role will involve developing technology roadmaps for Therapeutic Area (TA) tools and customer relationship management (CRM) tools, while ensuring alignment with corporate standards and data privacy requirements.

To be successful, the candidate is expected to have technical and functional experience around digital technology capabilities and how different solutions interact with each other to enable business outcomes. This role will be required to collaborate across a highly matrixed organization, to ensure business value can be delivered with the solutions being proposed.

This position is responsible for planning and overseeing a portfolio of technology projects from ideation to completion, including securing cross-functional alignment on project scope, benefits, cost, and timeline. He/she is expected to work effectively across various IT shared services teams, external Marketing Agencies, and other Commercial business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to understand medical and technological requirements for Therapeutic area digital needs and Medical Field tools (i.e. CRM).

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technology delivery teams.

  • Leads large key initiatives which may or may not be part of larger programs to ensure successful completion as well as ensuring the initiative delivers the results desired by the business.

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, and resource allocation, ensuring cross-functional alignment.

  • Utilize technical consulting skills to recommend and implement technology solutions that drive mutually beneficial business outcomes.

  • Interact well with diverse groups across business and technological functions and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.

  • Act as a single point of contact for Business Technology Solutions delivery related to Medical Affairs technology strategy and tools.

  • Investigates and understands capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in AbbVie and investigates available technologies applied to this business area in industry; identifies information required to support the business strategy and leads the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy.

  • Makes recommendations to process stakeholders regarding the correct approach to achieve process improvement objectives. These may include business process outsourcing, application development or adopting business process management (BPM) practices

  • Allies with other BTOs to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts. Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information.

  • Promote a positive team culture, fostering innovation and open communication across diverse, matrixed teams.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable AbbVie policies and procedures, staying informed of technological trends and conducting necessary technical research.

  • Provide visibility and status updates to business and technology leadership on project benefits, costs, and risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 years’ experience, Master's Degree with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 0 years' experience in business analysis, project management, and technology consulting.

  • Experience with pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, brand teams, or commercial environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement digital solutions, including omni channel strategies and scientific content delivery across various platforms.

  • Experience working with customer relationship management systems.

  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional project teams and working within global, matrixed environments.

  • Excellent communication.

  • Knowledge of methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps.

  • Experience working with financial portfolios and budgets.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage resources effectively.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $106,500 - $202,500
