How will you make an impact in this role?
The Credit Risk Oversight organization within Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing credit risk across all processes and geographies at American Express.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct quantitative analysis on risk management data to drive insights and recommendations for first line teams.
Conduct independent reviews of commercial credit risk processes and provide effective challenge to first line teams.
Identify credit risk metrics (e.g. KRIs and KPIs) to continuously monitor and oversee risk.
Develop requirements to support the next generation risk capabilities (e.g. Smart Monitoring)
Produce credit risk dashboards for AXP Risk Committees including tracking risk appetite metrics.
Analyze trends in the charge and lending portfolios and conduct deep dive analysis to understand key drivers.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and Background
Credit risk management experience.
5 years’ experience
Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
Experience with data-driven analytical tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, HIVE/HADOOP, R, Python);
Ability to clearly communicate oversight findings to credit risk peers, business partners, and senior leaders.
Demonstrates the courage to challenge the status quo.
Demonstrates the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues across the Company.
Self-starter with natural curiosity to solve problems.
Advanced degree in quantitative field is preferred.
Leadership Skills
Developing leader who can build, encourage, and mentor a team with a passion for the business.
Exhibits strong collaboration and influential leadership skills with the ability to build positive relationships across teams and levels of seniority.
Self-confident with a strong sense of integrity, and the ability and willingness to challenge and be challenged.
Proactive in identifying issues, delivering and escalating key findings, and advising on recommended solutions to correct issues or mitigate risks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to clearly communicate oversight findings to credit risk peers, business partners, and senior leaders.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
