How will you make an impact in this role?

As our customers are changing the way they work and pay, we have been evolving with them by developing B2B partner-embedded and automated payment solutions so that we are seamlessly coordinated into customer ecosystem. The B2B Solutions team is focused on building a new business model, key partnerships, value propositions, and go-to-market plans that will address all customer segments, from Small businesses to Large and Global clients, to create new opportunities for us to capture B2B spend through these ecosystem partners, such as AP Automation partners, Accounting and ERP software providers, as well as procurement platforms & networks. This business has doubled in customers and volume over the last few years, and critical to further growth is the scaling of our B2B ecosystem.

Critical to growth for the business is continuing to develop and scale Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP), our Amex primary B2B payment construct, through product innovation and go-to-market initiatives. The Director of B2B Next Gen will be instrumental in defining and executing the strategy for accelerated growth and integration of new capabilities, such as Dynamic Pricing, off network payments, and invoice management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver product strategy by deeply understanding B2B payment needs and customer experience insights

  • Serve as general manager and P&L owner – responsible for hitting volume & revenue targets and handling day-to-day customer feedback & insights

  • Synthesize insights from customer visits, focus groups, competitive analysis, etc. to optimize customer experience

  • Collaborate with partners in Product Development to prioritize development roadmap based on customer needs and market opportunity

  • Develop and implement broader sales effectiveness and marketing strategy across partners by collaborating with Global Commercial Services (GCS) Sales & Account Development teams

  • Collaborate with key partners to deliver roadmap and drive growth

  • Deliver solutions in a compliant way with continued focus on ensuring effective product risk management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Track record of delivering results in product management, strategy, or product development role; experience with B2B or digital product management preferred

  • Knowledge of B2B Payments, procure-to-pay solutions, and broader trends in the constantly evolving commercial payments space

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with comfort presenting to senior audiences

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to translate unstructured information to a structured, actionable plan.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and drive strong results with limited resources.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, thrives in fast-paced environment with a bias for action, gets stuff done

  • Ability to bridge connections across stakeholder groups considering multiple points of view to define and drive joint objectives

  • A committed and proven people leader

Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
