Our watchOS performance team is seeking a candidate that is excited at the opportunity of making watchOS the most performant OS across all use-cases. People love using their Apple Watch for all kinds of activities like Health, Fitness, Routines, Media, AirPods as well as the most day to day notifications and convenience features. It's the most personal device someone has after their phone. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing these experiences, identifying gaps and bottlenecks and finding innovative solutions to enrich the customer experience.

Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated watchOS Performance and Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with some of the most innovative watchOS experiences that Apple has developed and will continue to create. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building test frameworks, automation pipelines, and innovative solutions to optimize use-cases efficiently. You will track and monitor metrics that demonstrate these improvements and suggest enhancements at both the hardware and software levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have a B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or AI/ML.

  • You're experienced in building test frameworks and automation pipelines.

  • You demonstrate proficiency in Python for developing test automation scripts.

  • You have strong analytical skills to track and monitor performance metrics.

  • You have the ability to design and implement comprehensive test plans.

  • You have excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have a foundational understanding of electronics and wireless technologies.

  • You have the capacity to dive deep technically, learn new technologies, and understand the technical details of an accessory or product system.

  • You have the ability to analyze and distill meaningful insight from large data and make quantitative assessments.

  • You have the ability to efficiently articulate key points or risks to non-technical audiences.

  • You have excellent communication skills and effective at building relationships to collaborate and influence projects.

  • You're obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to pursue everyday problems in innovative ways.

  • Passion for driving quality and optimizing performance in watchOS products.
