Apple is seeking a highly qualified Engineering Manager to join our Apple Cloud Services Engineering team. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building the next generation of user experiences.

Description

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Manager with deep expertise in Kubernetes and AI to lead engineering efforts, architect scalable solutions, and drive technical innovation across our infrastructure platform.

In this critical role, you’ll manage a high-performing team of engineers focused on advancing our Kubernetes ecosystem. You’ll work closely with engineering and product leadership to define our multi-cloud Kubernetes strategy, build next-generation Kubernetes products enhanced with AI, and ensure successful implementation across environments.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Kubernetes and artificial intelligence, proven experience leading engineering teams, and a track record of delivering systems at scale. You’ll own the vision, strategy, and execution of Kubernetes initiatives—aligning technical goals with business outcomes to deliver high-impact solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8 YOE of leading, mentoring, and grow a high-performing team of Kubernetes engineers and cloud infrastructure professionals.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

• Define and execute the K8s experience strategy aligned with business objectives and industry trends.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, business units) to integrate K8s solutions into company products and services.

• Drive innovation by staying up to date on the latest AI trends, tools, and technologies.

• Ensure alignment between Kubernetes architecture and cloud-native applications.

• Ensure the quality, robustness, and scalability of the systems.

• Effectively communicate vision, progress, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.

• Build strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and academic institutions to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry advancements.

• Drive the hiring and development of talent to build a strong, cohesive team.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services and APIs using Go (Golang).

• Design and build scalable, reliable, and secure APIs for integration with third-party systems and internal tools.

• Ensure code quality through unit testing, peer reviews, and adherence to coding best practices.

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages

• Experience representing the team and its technology in multi-functional project meetings.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
