About Credit & Fraud Risk Finance
Credit & Fraud Risk Finance team delivers fact-based, decision-driven and high-impact Net Loss Provision forecasts and credit-risk related insights through deep analytics. The key objective is to drive prudent financial decisions and support credit-risk strategies while ensuring adherence to governance and controls. This position will be part of a highly talented team with strong intellectual curiosity. The CFR Financial Insights Team is a project-based team committed to providing insightful analytics and informed recommendations to drive profitable growth.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This Manager role sits within Risk Finance and partners closely with Credit & Fraud Risk, Finance LFOs, EFP&A, Investor Relations, Marketing, Investment Optimization, and of course Technology to support enterprise decision-making, planning, and forecasting. The role combines deep analytical expertise, AI-enabled insight generation, automation leadership, and core TM1 ownership for critical finance and risk processes.
You will lead complex, cross-functional analytics that link risk actions to customer behavior, financial outcomes, and loss metrics, while also modernizing how insights and forecasts are produced through advanced analytics and automation.
You’ll influence and inform cross-enterprise strategic decision-making by performing nuanced analytics on card member and segment behavior as well as peer and industry trends, always keeping in mind profitability expectations and impact to losses.
You’ll evaluate actions/initiatives that span multiple businesses and produce cost/benefit analyses that quantify how the initiatives will increase revenue or reduce credit write-offs to inform prioritization of investment dollars.
You’ll drive awareness of data / insights / market / portfolio trends across businesses and proactively identify opportunities for analysis.
You’ll extract forward-looking insights that guide planning and forecasting assumptions within Risk Finance and across Corporate Planning.
You’ll contribute to our positive team culture by sharing knowledge and feedback with your colleagues, actively engaging in team discussions, and sharing ideas for how to continuously improve our collaboration and culture.
Responsibilities
Advanced Analytics & Decision Support
Provide credit and fraud-related analytical support that identifies portfolio trends, customer-level behaviors, and actionable insights to inform strategic decisions across the Credit & Fraud Risk Management organization.
Perform nuanced analytics to evaluate initiatives spanning multiple businesses, including cost/benefit analyses that quantify revenue uplift, loss reduction, or risk mitigation.
Develop and present clear, data-driven recommendations to senior Risk and Finance leadership, translating complex analytical findings into business implications.
Drive forward-looking insights that inform planning, forecasting, and assumption-setting within Risk Finance and broader Corporate Planning.
AI-Enabled & Advanced Analytical Initiatives
Translate business problems into AI- and advanced analytics use cases , partnering with centralized Data Science and Technology teams to drive solution design and adoption.
Co-lead AI-driven initiatives (e.g., advanced forecasting, loss attribution, anomaly detection, scenario analysis, or analytics-driven automation) from problem framing through implementation and business adoption.
Act as a bridge between business, finance, and data science teams to ensure analytical solutions are relevant, interpretable, and decision-ready.
Automation & Analytical Modernization
Lead the automation of recurring analytical and reporting deliverables using Python and related tools, improving efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Design and implement reusable analytical frameworks, pipelines, and tools (e.g., scenario tools, automated decks, standardized analytics outputs) to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, enhance controls, and modernize analytical workflows.
TM1 / Planning System Ownership
Own and manage critical IBM TM1 / PAW processes supporting Risk Finance planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
Ensure forecast integrity, data governance, and timely execution of planning cycles, while proactively identifying opportunities for system simplification and automation.
Partner with Technology and upstream data providers to integrate analytical outputs and automation into TM1 processes where appropriate, reducing manual touchpoints and single-point-of-failure risks.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
Serve as a de facto analytical lead, coordinating work across Finance, Risk, Data Science, and Technology partners.
Influence stakeholders across levels by providing clear analytical narratives, strong business context, and well-structured recommendations.
Contribute to a collaborative team culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and continuously improving how the team delivers insights.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience in finance, risk analytics, or related analytical roles.
BS/MS in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience working with large, complex datasets.
Proficiency in SQL; strong experience with Python for analytics and automation.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear business insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience partnering with data science teams on advanced analytics or AI-enabled initiatives.
Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
Hands-on experience with IBM TM1 / PAW or similar enterprise planning systems.
Familiarity with Lumi or large-scale data environments is a plus.
Proven track record of driving automation or process modernization in a finance or risk context.
