The Apple Watch team is looking for a talented Automation Engineer to help ensure that our iOS and watchOS releases continue to be stable, reliable, and of the highest quality. As a member of our dynamic and collaborative team, you will work with groundbreaking technology while enhancing our testing capabilities for new features, and have a unique and rewarding opportunity to help shape upcoming products worn and loved by millions of people around the world.

Description

This position requires strong technical expertise and a passion for quality to create, maintain, and expand automated testing for watchOS. Working closely with engineers across teams, you will help drive our testing capabilities for all Apple operating systems, as well as triage results to identify and surface software issues before they reach customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple.

  • Strong programming skills in Python or equivalent languages.

  • Experience with Git and codebase management.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with test methodologies (unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing, etc).

  • Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including experience in finding, investigating, and fixing bugs.

  • Experience with developing test strategies, including writing test plans, test cases, custom tools, and testing architectures.

  • Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly organized and creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for achieving results.

  • An enthusiasm for user-focused design & high-quality products.

  • Experience developing UI automation, preferably in Apple frameworks such as XCTest.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience integrating AI/ML-powered tools into automation workflows.
