Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with your physical space. It allows us to do the things we love in ways never before possible — all while staying connected to the people around us. The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a 3D Frameworks Engineer to help build frameworks that will drive the next generation of interactive 3D experiences for our platform. You will play a significant role in defining and building the future of 3D and immersive interactions on Apple’s s spatial computing platform - pushing you to think outside the box and work closely with designers and other software teams to solve incredibly challenging problems. You will work with some of Apple’s most advanced technologies including Spatial Computing, Augmented Reality (AR), RealityKit, SwiftUI, to create ground-breaking new products.
Description
As a member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally to expand and modernize the 3D feature set of the RealityKit framework. We collaborate across Apple, working closely with hardware teams, low level system software teams, algorithm teams, HI, and our third party developer ecosystem. Our primary responsibilities are delivering new 3D graphics and simulation features, visionOS compositing, power & performance, API design and delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science and/or equivalent field with demonstrated ability
6+ yrs of development experience
Strong understanding of software engineering and computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design principles, design patterns, data structures, algorithms and linear algebra
Proficiency in programming languages such as Swift and/or C++ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience working with 3D rendering engines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience debugging complex applications
API design experience for publicly shipped frameworks
Experience bridging C++ and swift programming languages
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
