Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Analyze component datasheets and perform schematic capture. Coordinate layout of highly constrained multilayer rigid and flexible PCBs, including HDI and fine pitch BGAs. Forecast and plan design time to meet constrained schedules. Drive design tradeoffs across manufacturing, test, thermal, performance, reliability, battery life, and electrical stakeholders. Prototypes bring-up, debug, functional verification, and electrical characterization. Use advance lab tools such as 25 GHz oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and BERT scopes to judge the quality and robustness of electrical designs. Analyze factory-scale data to adjust signal parameters for maximum margin. Review designs of factory test fixtures, ensuring manufacturing test plans provide adequate coverage to ensure the design is assembled correctly. Debug problems found in manufacturing, feedback root cause and corrective action into design or manufacturing process in preparation for high volume. Communicate and present stats on concurrent top issues and deadlines to leadership. International Travel Required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • Debugging problems found in manufacturing.

  • Prototyping bring-up, debug, functional verification, and electrical characterization.

  • Designing and simulating electrical circuits that meet performance and power requirements.

  • Performing design review of electrical schematics.

  • Reading and analyzing component datasheets for electrical part selection.

  • Release Bill of Materials (BOM) for electrical designs to contract manufacturers.

  • Performing design review of PCB layout for accuracy and manufacturability.

  • Developing and maintaining Engineering Requirements Specification (ERS) documents for electrical designs.
