About Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE)

Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience (GREWE) is a global team at American Express (Amex) responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution, and operations of Amex real estate. GREWE supports over 75,000 Amex colleagues and contractors in over eight million square feet of property located in 59 countries. Our real estate portfolio consists of large full-service campuses, office buildings, sales offices, airport lounges and data centers. The global GREWE team is comprised of ~100 Amex full time staff that leverage ~5,000 contractors and is part of the broader Global Servicing Group organization which delivers shared business services to colleagues across the enterprise.

The Vice President, GREWE Americas Operations is a key leadership position in the organization, leading a team responsible for end-to-end footprint operations across North and South America for American Express.

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

End to End Operations Responsibilities

  • Leads an organization of 2,000 people to deliver end to end services (Workplace Experience, Project Delivery, Facilities Operations) in 4 countries in North and South America

  • Responsible for 10 properties, 3.5 million square feet

  • Oversees and leads an organization of 20 internal Amex employees, and 2,000 external employees

  • Supports workplace and facilities for over 22,000 Amex colleagues

  • Delivers P&L impact across a budget of $360 million annually P&L

  • Responsible for the WHQ campus strategy and operations, including partnerships with local stakeholders (landlords, city, neighbors, tenants, etc.)

  • Executive leadership to deliver end to end Amex property strategies for the Americas

  • Footprint Planning: Deliver master plans for all major campuses in the Americas region, focused on improving workplace experience and delivering profitability

  • Lead the delivery of FM Operations: driving operations excellence, reducing down time, proactively mitigating risk, and delivering the most efficient properties possible

  • Executive oversight (dotted line) of a regional project delivery activities to manage/deliver projects supporting Americas footprint transformation

  • Accountable for site risk management including EHS, crisis management, and maintaining quality

Management of our World HQ Location

  • Leads a team of cross functional leaders and functional experts to manage Amex’s NYC headquarters.

  • Establish and cultivates a close business relationship with key Amex leaders, especially at the EC level, to develop a WHQ plan and deliver operations excellence. This will be in partnership with the SVP, GREWE.

Executive / Customer Engagements

  • Direct executive engagement with Executive Committee members, Global Services Group LT, leadership teams across the Americas, Amex country managers, finance, etc. on a routine basis

  • Establishes key relationships with internal executives and customers to deliver service levels and meet business milestones in support of objectives. A close back-up and advisor to SVP, GREWE in this area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of Operations or CRE or facilities experience (or equivalent) is required.

  • Minimum of 10 years managing large teams

  • Deep knowledge of operations management, real estate, hospitality, FM, and/or delivering capital projects in a footprint environment

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent. Degree in operations, business, or MBA is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
