Job Description
The Manager – Strategic Projects will work very closely with several cross-functional partners such as US SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) Account Development, Product, Marketing, Finance, Risk and other key partners / COE teams. They will support thought leadership for the business teams in ensuring the broader organization’s ability to achieve success both strategically and tactically. In addition to these core responsibilities, the incumbent will also lead special projects that drive the GCS strategy forward.
The ideal candidate will coordinate across key partners within US SME to ensure there is alignment and collaboration on strategic priorities. They will possess thought leadership, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, and will have a proven record of supporting initiatives from inception to successful execution.
Responsibilities
Leverage end-to-end business knowledge to develop detailed problem statement and conduct Root Cause Analysis for Strategic work
Manage program governance and delivery, partnering with key stakeholders to drive delivery against key workstreams, multiple projects effectively, efficiently, influencing and escalating to drive results as needed
Partner with multiple Business Units and teams across the American Express including, Product, Sales & AD, Marketing, Technologies, Operations Excellence, Finance,
Operations to drive the execution of the strategic projects
Develop project plan, manage deadlines and budgets, while identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies
Ability to analyze large sets of data, with strong analytical skills and expertise in spreadsheets, charts, and data visualizations
Project manage the design, development, and delivery of Strategic solutions
Deliver updates and recommendations to Steering Committee/ Senior Leadership
Qualifications
Ability to influence positive outcomes and develop strong partnership/relationship with key business units across all levels of the organization
4 + years of combined experience in Consulting, and/ or Program Management/Strategy
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly complex environment and navigating between competing priorities
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, with ability to interact with partners across all management levels
Strong project/process management and prioritization skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Experience using SQL and other analytical tools
Consistent track record in analyzing data and information to proficiently produce relevant conclusions and recommendations
Proficient knowledge of MS Office; understanding of program/project management software (MS Project etc.) is a strong advantage
Bachelor's Degree required
