As part of Team Amex, you'll experience this powerful backing with comprehensive support for your holistic well-being and many opportunities to learn new skills, develop as a leader, and grow your career.
Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This role sits within the Digital Experience Tracking and User Consent Management team, which safeguards American Express from regulatory and reputational risks related to data privacy, security, and compliance. You'll work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment focused on cloud-native, scalable engineering - leveraging technologies such as OpenShift, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, Golang, and Java. Your contributions will directly impact customer trust, system reliability, and Amex's standing with global regulatory bodies.

Build and evolve systems for real-time tracking event ingestion , privacy signal routing, and client-server synchronization.
Partner with Product, Privacy, InfoSec, and Legal teams to integrate policy enforcement into platform capabilities.
Support the lifecycle of third-party scripts, including change detection, compliance scanning, and automated alerting.
Extend our internal AI/ML models for JavaScript review by helping improve model integration, pipeline reliability, and feedback loops.
Build observability into all systems, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and actionable alerting.
Contribute to cloud infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Docker .
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering roles, preferably in cloud-native or distributed environments.
Strong programming skills in Golang, Java, and JavaScript , with production-level experience building services or APIs.
Experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or other event-driven architectures .

Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and cloud storage systems like GCS or S3.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows , containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a regulated environment , particularly in FinTech or privacy-sensitive industries.
Familiarity with tag management systems , script loading behaviors, and consent frameworks (e.g., IAB TCF, OneTrust).
Exposure to AI/ML pipelines or model serving for rule-based or pattern-detection applications (e.g., code scanning, content classification).
Experience with frontend instrumentation for tracking or analytics, including client-side frameworks (React, TypeScript).
Understanding of security compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, NIST) and their impact on system design.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when collaborating across engineering, legal, and product functions.
