Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop software to power on, control, and capture data from various sensors on internal hardware prototypes. Collaborate with hardware teams to define software interfaces and with the data team to specify data offload procedures. Debug and resolve software and hardware issues related to data collection and field operations. Develop Python library to facilitate the creation of new machine learning based projects, and to provide useful functions to load, explore, analyze, and process data, and evaluate models built on it. Develop algorithm to perform statistically informed dynamic binning of internal datasets for machine learning consumption. Deployment of infrastructure to provide storage, computing, and orchestration for machine learning tasks, such as Jupyter Hub. Develop various tools for data capture and monitoring using Apple-native programming languages such as Swift. Integration with Apple internal Software Development Kits (SDKs) and other internal Apple infrastructure. Full-circle integration with own data and machine learning platform. Develop Python libraries to manage the ingestion of data into machine learning platforms and perform computational steps on distributed machines. Develop database systems and backend infrastructure to monitor such processes and quickly identify potential issues. Develop web user interfaces to visualize progress and keep users informed. Specification of APIs between different software services built. Contribute to the general software architecture of department-level software stack in relation to data acquisition, storage, and processing. Integration testing, debugging, and sign-off of such interfaces. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:

• Using Swift and Python to develop tools for data capture and monitoring.

• Develop Python libraries to manage the ingestion of data into machine learning platform and perform computational steps on distributed machines.

• Perform statistical analysis in Python (with libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, scipy) to dynamically assign batches of data to train, validation, and test sets for machine learning consumption (operation known as “data binning” or “splitting”).

• Develop backend services comprising of restful APIs using Python and Django, and database systems such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

• Perform operations using the AWS suite, such as setting up S3 storage buckets, automating CI/CD pipelines to deploy code from internal repositories, managing Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and scaling up their resources based on system load.

• Develop frontend web user interfaces using Typescript and the React framework.

• Perform machine learning operations including deployment and execution of machine learning models in the cloud (AWS).

• Define authentication & authorization procedures, and APIs between multiple micro-services associated to a machine learning platform / infrastructure.

• Use clustering and dimensionality reduction in Python (Pandas, scikit-learn, umap) to identify patterns and outliers in the data.
