Description
Working as a part of an extraordinary development team, we are searching for a highly motivated software developer. In this position, you will have the opportunity to develop exciting features for Apple's next generation products. You work will involve telephony, SIM, and protocol software. Your contributions will make a clear difference towards future iOS products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and maintain firmware components for eUICC and secure element subsystems on vendor baseband platforms
INTEGRATE BASEBAND FIRMWARE WITH HOST-SIDE FRAMEWORKS AND IOS INTERFACES
Collaborate with silicon vendors to bring up and validate custom firmware features
Debug and resolve issues across AP-BB-SE interfaces, including ISO7816, SWP, and proprietary channels
Contribute to system-level architecture discussions involving eSIM provisioning, activation, and lifecycle management
Analyze and ensure compliance with GSMA and 3GPP specifications related to eUICC and cellular connectivity
Work cross-functionally with security, protocol stack, and carrier engineering teams to support feature delivery and certification
Minimum Qualifications
Strong expertise in embedded firmware development
Hands-on experience with baseband modem platforms (Qualcomm, MTK, etc.)
Deep understanding of eUICC architecture, SIM file systems, and ISO/ETSI standards (e.g., TS 102 221, TS 102 222)
Solid debugging skills using tools such as JTAG, QXDM, and protocol-level log analyzers
Familiarity with cellular technologies (3GPP Rel-13 and above), SIM provisioning workflows, and secure boot environments
Experience with AP-BB-SE com munition protocols
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to OS-level integration (iOS or RTOS environments)
Understanding of cryptographic protocols used in eUICC lifecycle (PKI, TLS, ASN.1)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment
Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate with multi-functional teams
Hard-working and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways
You are upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitude
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
