In this role, you will be responsible for crafting next-generation and proprietary ranging and sensing technologies at the PHY layer. This involves collaborating closely with multiple cross-functional teams, including the radio and analog teams, PHY/MAC systems teams, firmware teams, and product teams, to determine the requirements, develop and implement ranging and sensing designs, validate pre-silicon platforms, bring up post-silicon devices, and optimize performance and reliability. Ultimately, your goal is to deliver a solution that achieves the target requirements and satisfies user-level expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
BS with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Strong understanding of communication theory, information theory, or signal processing.
Knowledge of ranging and sensing protocols, such as IEEE 802.11az, IEEE 802.11bf, IEEE 802.11bk, IEEE 802.15.4z, IEEE 802.15.4ab.
Experience designing PHY algorithms for wireless communication systems.
Experience developing ranging and sensing algorithms.
Experience implementing and simulating system models in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
MSEE or Ph.D. preferred, with a focus on communication systems or signal processing.
Strong analytical skills to develop best-in-class designs in terms of performance, power, and area.
Experience testing ranging and sensing designs in real-world environments.
Experience with multi-resolution algorithms that are used to estimate the first path of arrival for ranging.
Experience developing algorithms that lead to hardware- and firmware-friendly designs.
Hands-on experience with testing, characterization, and bring-up of silicon in the lab.
Experience with lab equipment, such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
