How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. As part of GCS, the Small Business Product Operations (SBPO) team sits within the Small Business Products & Blueprint (SBP&B) organization. The team supports the SBP&B strategy by executing key processes for product enablement, customer experience, controls, data governance, RCSA, issue management, and audit, ICT and regulatory exam responses.
SBPO team is looking for a Sr. Associate to manage the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities across a diverse portfolio of products
Purpose of the role
Senior Associate would have to support/lead all RCSA related associated with Small Business Products Operations, while working across operational areas such as Product, Operational Excellence, and front & back-office servicing as part of our effort to build, launch and run this new line of business.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic risk advice to business process owners when process changes are triggered, or new regulations apply
Actively be involved in change management initiatives to ensure adequate assessment of risks and compliance with existing policies & regulations
Compile best practices and learnings from historical processes changes and product launches and leverage to support risk identification
Implement robust risk identification and mitigation strategies to effectively manage emerging risk themes
Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation through thematic analysis and collaboration with business units, ensuring early detection of emerging risks
Facilitate risk awareness and education within business teams to enhance their ability to manage risks effectively
Ensure control management & RAU along with Process owners are aware of the control mapping and linkages
Track activities across Operational Risk Management's policy requirements
Ensure completeness and accuracy of Process grouping within RAU
Monitoring and reporting of RAU results and data points
Minimum Qualifications & Eligibility
More than 3 years of experience with PRSA / RCSA activities combined with experience in Project Management & Risk Management with decision-making skills, prioritization skills and a proven ability to manage cross-functional, large/complex initiatives that may have a commercial impact
Drive results and be a team player with a strong collaborative orientation
Experience working across/with product, risk and compliance functions and have a knowledgeable understanding of the various risks and regulatory obligations of American Express
Must be highly organized and professional individual with an ability to demonstrate keen attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, resourcefulness and efficiency
Excellent project management experience, organization, and prioritization skills and a proven ability to manage cross-functional, large/complex initiatives
Experience working in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment, developing relationships across organizational boundaries and influencing without direct authority
Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrated proficiency with use of Excel and PowerPoint
Qualifications
Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
