We’re a team of software engineers who focus on QE strategies to achieve a high bar of quality through automation and workflow enhancements. In this unique opportunity you will make an impact across a wide range of software engineering teams. You will lead a team responsible for driving the development and implementation of best practices for qualifying end-to-end features. Your team will also build novel software prototypes, tools, and automation for improving the quality of our operating systems.
Description
The Central Automation and Tools team is responsible for improving all facets of using automation in our QE workflows. This includes analyzing the workflows, data and tools that help teams make it an effective, efficient element of their testing strategy. We need a creative leader to help us explore and implement new technologies to continually improve our approach to achieving outstanding quality. You will work closely with other QE Managers and Automation Engineers across Apple to ensure we are putting the best ideas into our solutions. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Two years of directly related work experience can substitute for the education requirement.
Proven experience leading and growing small-to-medium-sized engineering teams.
Strong development skills in Swift, Objective-C, C++ or similar languages.
Proven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies.
Ability to lead several concurrent projects.
Preferred Qualifications
EXPERIENCE WITH XCTEST AND XCODE
Experience writing and triaging automated software tests (e.g., unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests)
Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate bugs, and consolidating bug reports
Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes
Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,100 and $301,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
