Description
As a Staff Accountant for Bunzl's Distribution Division, you will be responsible for various monthly duties including, assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, investigation of general ledger accounts, execute month-end close procedures and support internal and external audits. You will also have the opportunity to engage in special projects as directed by your leader, the Division Controller.
This is currently a hybrid role; 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH. External candidates would need to work from the Philidelphia, PA location to allow for training. Internal candidates could sit at any of our Bunzl branch locations.
Responsibilities:
Support the general accounting efforts of 40+ locations within your assigned region
Perform account reconciliations including general ledger, balance sheet and journal entries in compliance with GAAP standards
Assist in the month-end closing process, including preparing and posting corporate and multi-company journal entries as needed
Prepare and gather data for external and internal auditors
Report additions, disposals, and transfers of all fixed assets to partner consultant each month
Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate, Finance, Sales, Operations and Warehouse teams
Leverage internal stakeholder relationships to influence the timely collection of audit data
Utilize monthly financial statements to identify key performance trends and provide insight for decision making
Assists with other accounting duties and special projects as directed by Management
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in Accounting required
Prior accounting experience
Extensive knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Experience with AS400, HTM, TM1 and/or BlackLine software preferred
Able to work beyond typical business hours as needed, including several U.S. holidays
