Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and implement firmware for SoC bring up, validation, and test. Enhance and maintain the development and debug environments, tools and methodologies. Support functional test environment for device characterization, failure analysis, and mass production. Generate post-silicon directed diagnostic and stress test cases and debugging failure cases using multiple HW and low-level SW platforms. Leverage and port design verification and silicon validation tests to enable improved test coverage of IP in silicon test. Develop software to confirm that the silicon behaves as architected under the various supported modes. Develop targeted functional tests to screen failures identified during the product lifecycle. Craft and build the technology that fuels Apple's devices. Craft and implement embedded software for System on a Chip (SoC) bring up and test. Write software for Apple silicon in a bare metal environment, and working closely with the Silicon Validation and Software Engineering teams to bring up new silicon. Ensure the quality of every device when manufactured. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $149,365 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience and/or education must include:
ARM CPU assembly language programming
Developing software in bare metal environment
Implementing real-time operating system internals including locks and semaphores
Implementing multi-core aware software in an embedded system
Implementing and configuring memory protection features of CPU hardware
Writing device drivers to support low level I/O interfaces including I2C or SPI on an SOC
Writing code that runs in interrupt context when controlling device hardware
Utilizing Oscilloscopes and Logic Analyzers to debug low level software drivers on an SOC
