DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer – Senior to join our team specializing in Manufacturing in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Driving Continuous Improvement : Utilizing continuous improvement tools and adhering to Cummins standards, you'll lead the development of better manufacturing methods.

  • Influencing Stakeholders : By effectively communicating with and influencing key stakeholders, you'll align project goals with business needs and gain support for initiatives.

  • Collaborating on Projects : Working with internal and external resources, you'll ensure successful project execution and foster strong partnerships.

  • Coaching and Mentoring : Maintaining relationships and coaching key stakeholders, you'll develop their skills and enhance team performance.

  • Leading Equipment and System Changes : By planning, designing, purchasing, and implementing changes to manufacturing equipment and systems, you'll drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret Drawings Accurately : Integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support optimal manufacturing processes.

  • Procure Equipment Wisely : Select manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and project needs.

  • Leverage Digital Tools : Use digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

  • Apply Manufacturing Knowledge : Implement changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.

  • Document Processes : Produce clear and accurate manufacturing procedures to ensure continuity and standardization.

  • Design Effective Tools and Fixtures : Select work-piece-holding devices that effectively secure parts during manufacturing processes.

  • Value Diversity : Recognize and appreciate the value of diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement : Implement process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to enhance quality and reduce costs.

  • Design Ergonomic Workstations : Create or adapt processes and workstations to reduce risk and ensure ergonomic design.

  • Solve Problems Systematically : Use systematic analysis processes to solve problems, mentor others, and implement robust, data-based solutions.

  • Design Safe Workstations : Ensure operator workstations are safe, healthy, and ergonomic, balancing cost, quality, and delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects for VPI manufacturing changes.

  • Lead infant care following line changes.

  • Lead FIRG resolution per manufacturing needs.

  • Design and implement process and equipment changes - this could be new equipment or retrofits of existing.

Additional Information:

  • This is an onsite role.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience where appropriate.
