The Advanced Process Lab is a unique facility with equipment dedicated to developing & optimizing processes for the Manufacturing Design team. Your role will be to lead the execution of CNC projects under oversight of various engineering teams.
Description
In this role, you will be exposed to machining equipment that is used to manufacture Apple mechanical enclosures. Programming and support of CNC equipment will involve the following tasks:
• Program CNC equipment using CAM software and 3D solid models
• Review existing CNC programs and processes for optimization & cycle time reduction
• Design / build required fixturing for CNC projects
• Complete various experiments to determine the best cutting tools and parameters
• Use manual mills and lathes for quick turn-around of unique components
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for reporting detailed analysis
Minimum Qualifications
3-7 years of hands-on CNC and machining and programming experience
3-5 years of experience with CAM programming from solid models required
Experience with set-up and running of CNC equipment required
Experience with CNC controllers required
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to complete report-outs and communication of work completed
Expertise in conducting thorough failure analysis and devising effective corrective measures to address manufacturing challenges.
Experience with simultaneous 5-axis machining a plus
Experience with manual mills, lathes, saws, and hand tools
Ability to select and set-up appropriate cutting tools for CNC equipment
Proficiency with shop measurement tools required - calipers, micrometers, etc.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with many different projects
Technical degree preferred
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,400 and $193,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
