How will you make an impact in this role?

As a Manager of Internal Communications, you will be an integral member of the CA&C team supporting the Global Commercial Services (GCS) and Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) divisions. GCS serves millions of business customers around the world by offering payment and cashflow tools that make it easy for them to manage their financial and payment needs. GMNS brings together American Express' merchant and network-related businesses, including the relationship management of American Express-accepting merchants as well as partners in countries and territories that deliver card acceptance, issuance, and innovation.

In this role, you will apply your proven strategic communications expertise to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate internal communications programs that support and sustain a high performing culture within our teams. You will be responsible for reinforcing the overall B2B strategy through thoughtful storytelling and colleague-facing communications. Additionally, you will provide communications support, as needed, to GCS and GMNS Executives. This position will work directly for the Vice President of Internal and Executive Communications and will work closely across Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) and business unit Leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Vice President of Internal and Executive Communications in delivering consistent, effective, creative, and impactful colleague engagement and internal communications. content/programs across our business and merchant organizations.

  • Create and execute full communications plans to engage and inform colleagues across digital and live channels, including Slack and the company intranet.

  • Manage and coordinate logistics and provide content support for various town halls and other large-scale events.

  • Craft written and video communications for GCS and GMNS executives.

  • Collaborate, partner and consult with global senior leaders, business partners and colleagues such as CA&C, Executive Offices, Colleague Experience Group (Human Resources), Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Field Enablement and other subject matter experts to assess global internal communications needs and create content/programs that ultimately drive business results.

  • Ensure high-quality and effective execution and delivery of content/programs – measure effectiveness and iterate as needed.

  • Collaborate closely with external/PR teams to deliver a cohesive, holistic and well-rounded approach to B2B storytelling.

  • Provide strategic counsel on sensitive issues with thoughtful messaging support and executive guidance as needed.

  • Deliver communications support for operational and sales-driven frontline communications.

  • Elevate key wins across the business and merchant organizations at the enterprise level and maximize impact on the company intranet.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing or Communications or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications – with experience in both internal and external, a plus.

  • Proven content creation (writing / editing) and communication skills – with track record of followership.

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively about work and transform communications into engaging experiences using social tools, video, and other media.

  • Strong PowerPoint and graphic design skills with experience creating engaging presentations and infographics.

  • Knowledge in colleague and executive communications management, change management.

  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and external partners.

  • Track record of managing multiple projects at once in a high-pressure environment.

  • Fluent user of social media and experience working with enterprise social networking tools.

  • Enthusiastic, flexible, self-starter and fast learner.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually bonus benefits
