Senior Manager - Payment Risk Data Strategy

Job Description
The Senior Manager will be part of the Enterprise Data Strategy team, focused on leveraging non-credentialed banking and open finance data to strengthen risk management across payments and deposits. This role drives the strategy and roadmap for data capabilities that enhance fraud prevention, credit risk assessment, and deposit risk management.
The role partners across the enterprise to improve decisioning, strengthen controls, and enable secure growth across consumer and commercial portfolios, while leading external partnerships to deliver scalable, compliant data solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead Payment Risk Data Strategy across the customer lifecycle, advancing fraud prevention, transaction risk controls, and deposit risk management through data-driven approaches
Drive adoption and integration of non-credentialed banking data to enhance risk decisioning and reduce reliance on credential-based access
Identify and scale high-impact data opportunities by analyzing internal and external sources to improve payment controls, reduce fraud losses, and strengthen deposit risk oversight
Own and shape the strategy for external data partnerships, driving data quality, performance management, and the development, prioritization, and integration of use cases across the enterprise
Deliver actionable insights, risk strategies, and performance metrics to improve authorization outcomes, fraud detection, and overall risk controls
Partner cross-functionally with Risk, Fraud, Compliance, Product, Banking & Payments, and Decision Science teams to design, implement, and scale data-driven risk strategies
Influence internal and external stakeholders, manage escalations, and drive alignment on data investments and risk priorities
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrixed organization to deliver solutions at top speed
Ability to manage and lead large scale projects with multiple cross functional partners
Results driven mindset with a proven track record to prioritize and deliver against multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Good communication and influencing skills with an ability to translate data and analytics into business insights and recommendations, conceptualize and sell ideas
Strong technical skills to perform data evaluation, analytics, and matrices tracking/reporting
Knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, SAS, and familiar with big data and cloud environments
5+ years of experience in a financial services organization in data or strategy function
Knowledge of Banking, Open Finance or Credit data ecosystem preferred
Bachelor Degree required, concentration in a quantitative field or business management preferred
Experience in managing people preferred
Adaptable interpersonal skills, high energy, and a proven team-first mentality
