How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Services Group is a diverse organization of about 6,500 colleagues which operate under International Credit & Collections. There are 2,300 partner colleagues, and multiple vendor partners. The teams play a critical role in protecting the company and enabling growth by minimizing financial losses and optimizing collection recoveries. Global Services Group also supports our customers in their most vulnerable times when they become subject to fraud. The organization is comprised of five groups – US Credit & Collections under which American Express Legal is assigned, Global Fraud, Global New Accounts, International Credit & Collections, and Global Commercial Credit & Underwriting.
The Manager - Legal Affairs must be familiar not only with the FDCPA but also every aspect of what constitutes a non-frivolous set of allegations that comprise the complaint to be filed in Court. It is important that the attorney work closely with Administrative Staff to create the vital motions that move the litigation towards judgment such as motions for default or summary judgment. If pre-trial motions are successful, it is vital for the attorney to have the experience to apply for judgment and to have the ability to apply for post judgment remedies such as bank levy and wage garnishment. Should pre-trial motions be unsuccessful it is imperative that the attorney be able to prepare for trial and apply necessary discovery tools and know how to introduce business records into evidence and apply the testimony of Custodians of business records.
Minimum Qualifications:
The attorney must be admitted to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and be thoroughly familiar with both state, local and federal rules and regulations with respect to collection of credit card debt
The attorney should have at least 2 years litigation and consumer debt experience
Experience in consumer collections is vital as well as a complete knowledge of every step of the legal process from the filing of the complaint in court through trial and post judgment remedies
The ability to work with administrative assistants is a vital component of this position
Proficiency with Word, Excel and Adobe is required
Ability to work in the Jenkintown, PA offices, 3 times per week
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to prioritize multiple cases at the same time and lead administrative assistants

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
