The Retail & Marcom Engineering Finance organization is chartered to provide sound financial governance and oversight across our Engineering teams to ensure that Apple Retail and Marcom implement the right-sized projects (dollars and people resources) to keep us on the cutting edge of customer service. We are looking for someone who can not only support the financial “nuts and bolts” behind these projects but also assess the portfolio’s financial health and provide thought leadership as we continue to evolve. This individual will partner with key stakeholders across the Engineering, Retail Business Unit, Marcom, and IS&T Finance teams.
Description
You will play a crucial role in analyzing the financial health and driving initiatives across the Retail & Marcom Engineering organization. This leader will manage a team of analysts that provide financial operations support and guidance across the lifecycle of software development projects, system sustenance, and organizational expenses. Success in this role includes leading and mentoring analysts, building trust and partnerships, driving results, influencing leadership by way of financial data, and being motivated to improve and innovate (especially in the face of ambiguity).
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Financial ownership and operations of Business Unit and Engineering expenditure portfolios, including execution of project funding, cash flow and budget management, and forecasting
- Leadership and execution of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process through milestone planning, vendor management, purchase requisition creation, and invoice approval oversight
- Ownership over organizational Operating Expenses, including spend reporting and analysis, forecast business insights, and execution of the annual budgeting process
- Execution of critical financial processes/analyses and strategic partner for key initiatives, such as Cloud, Fixed Asset Audit/Impairment Analysis
- Driving efficiencies and deeper analyses of current processes and activities
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience in a high performance organization, performing financial processes, reporting, and forecasting/modeling
Proven people leadership experience (direct or indirect)
Knowledge in Procure-to-Pay processes
B.A./B.S. or higher in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field
Preferred Qualifications
Team leader and/or player with the ability to partner and influence across different organizations and at all levels
Demonstrated success in managing multiple activities/projects, priorities, and people in a dynamic environment
Exhibits high analytical capabilities with the ability to distill complex and large data into insights communicated in simple and efficient ways
Shown to be a dedicated problem solver, expected to analyze a problem and work to recommend viable and highly effective solutions
Exceptionally detail oriented with the insight to determine applicability of big picture analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience developing processes and/or improving existing processes with a desire to influence change across teams and organizations
Unwavering intellectual curiosity with the ability to turn findings into unique insights. Is not satisfied with easy or convenient answers and drives issues to root cause
Experience with enterprise software systems and/or Apple internal applications (e.g. eApproval, Excel, SAP, Tableau, Process Director)
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,800 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
