Cupertino, California, United States

Summary
Posted: Sep 15, 2025
Weekly Hours: 40
Role Number: 200620472-0836
At Apple, every detail of the customer journey matters — from the first moment of discovery to the instant a device becomes part of someone’s life. Apple Financial Services plays a critical role in that journey, enabling customers to access Apple products through financing and monthly ownership programs. We believe these experiences should be as simple and intuitive as the products themselves.
We’re looking for a Customer Experience Designer who combines the craft of design with the rigor of product management. In this role, you won’t just design interfaces — you’ll own financing scenarios, shape customer journeys for hardware subscriptions and upgrades, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver them at global scale.
Description
In this role, you will:
Define and manage consumer lending scenarios for Apple Financial Services programs, covering monthly financing, upgrades, and trade-ins.
Partner with design and engineering teams to create frictionless e-commerce and checkout flows that span Apple.com (http://apple.com/), retail, and partner channels.
Build journeys that integrate eligibility checks, financing approvals, checkout, and lifecycle management into one seamless customer experience.
Develop journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes to visualize scenarios and align cross-functional teams.
Translate insights from customer research, analytics, and retail feedback into design improvements that scale globally.
Ensure every step of the journey — from financing application to device upgrade — reflects Apple’s standard of clarity, trust, and delight.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in customer experience design, product management, or service design roles
5+ years designing commerce and payments journeys, especially consumer lending or subscription financing
Strong knowledge in checkout, approvals, and e-commerce lending flows
Ability to map end-to-end lending scenarios (from eligibility and application through approval, checkout, and lifecycle management)
Expertise in simplifying complex financial processes into clear, customer-friendly experiences
Exceptional collaboration skills with engineering, design, legal, operations, and marketing teams
Strong communication and storytelling skills; able to present customer journeys and design rationale to executive partners
Experience with data-driven iteration and prototyping
BA/BS in Design, HCI, Business, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in consumer lending, financial services, or subscription commerce is strongly preferred.
Comfort navigating complex partner ecosystems (issuers, merchants, service providers).
Advanced degree preferred.
